Moodboard - Curso Hello! Blogging!

Tal y como os comenté, hubo un par de regalos estos Reyes pasados que me ayudaron a hacer el paso a abrir el blog. El primero ya os lo comenté en el segundo post del blog y el segundo fue el curso Hello! Blogging! de Hello Creatividad. Yo lo puse en la carta de Reyes y mi madre, mi santa madre, que aunque es una Mama 2.0 desde que la apuntamos hace año y medio a informática (tiene Facebook, hace servir Picassa, Skype, Word y hasta saber limpiar el ordenador para que sea más rápido!!!), de blogs no entiende mucho, pero como a mi me hacía ilusión, me lo regaló (gracias mama!). Y yo más feliz que una perdiz y (aunque no era obligatorio tener un blog, me fui) corriendo a crear el blog porque las clases empezaban en 3 días.  
As I told you, there were a couple of gifts these Three Magy Day that helped me to make the step forward to open the blog. The first one I already mentioned in the second post of the blog and the second present was the Hello! Blogging! of Hello Creativity. I wrote it on my Three Magy's letter and my mother, holy mother, that although she is a Mama 2.0  is (she started a computer course a year and half ago (she has Facebook, uses Picassa, Skype, Word and she knows how to clean up the computer in order to make it faster!)), she doen't know so much about blogging, but since I wanted the course, she gave me as a present (thanks mom!). I was really happy and (although it was not mandatory to have a blog, I went) running to create the blog because classes began in 3 days.

Hoy os presento el primer ejercicio que nos propusieron: un Moodboard (o lo que es lo mismo, un panel de inspiración). Como debía ser la esencia de lo que nos inspira para escribir el blog, he buscado lo más importante para mi o lo que creo que definirá el blog (aun es tan retoño que no sé si las cosas cambiaran). Y no me enrollo más y os explico los elementos que lo conforman.

Today I present you the first exercise that was proposed in the course: a Moodboard (or what is the same, a panel of inspiration). As it should be the essence of what inspires us to write the blog, I searched the most important for me or what I think will define the blog (it is still a baby, I don't know if things will change). So let's start explaining the elements that comprise my Moodboard:

- Las letras con el nombre del blog (que como os expliqué en el primer post, viene de mi nombre, Roser, y es como me llamaba mi padre). Son letras que me hizo una amiga que hace scrap. Me encantan los regalos hechos a mano! Como se lo que cuestan, por experiencia propia, los valoro muchísimo y los guardo con mucho aprecio.

 - The letters with the name of the blog (which, as I explained in the first post comes from my name, Roser, and it how my father called me). They were given by a good friend who makes scrap. I love handmade gifts! As I know the effort of making them by hand, by experience, I value them very much and keep with much appreciation.

- Frases positivas, porque el blog quiero que sea positivo. También me gustan muchos los dibujos sencillos, que parecen bocetos. 

- Positive statements, because I wnt the blog be positive. I also love simple drawings, that look like sketches.

- Me gusta mucho la fotografía, de ahí la cámara, es una de las aficiones que comparto con mi marido, oups perdón, mi compañero, que no estamos casados! (aunque con tanta boda crafty que se ve por internet vienen ganas de casarse mejor lo quito, que solo tengo 4 lectores, que son mi familia y amigas íntimas, y van a empezar a pensar que se van a poner el día de la boda). He hecho un par de cursos online, pero aun me falta muchísimo por aprender. Esta fotografía en blanco y negro me la hizo él y me gusta mucho. Nos gusta viajar y hacer un montón de fotografías. Ver mundo es para mi una gran fuente de inspiración!  

- I love photography, hence the camera, is one of the hobbies that I share with my husband, oops sorry, my partner, we're not married! (although with such amount of crafty wedding that I see in internet comes the desire to get marry better I remove it because I have only few readers, who are basically my family and close friends, and they will start to think about our wedding day). I've done a couple of online photography courses, but I still have a lot to learn. This photograph in black and white of me was taken by him and I love it. We like to travel and do a lot of photographs. World View is for me a great source of inspiration! 

- No os voy a negar, que soy de la moda de los bigotes, me encantan! 

- I will not deny it, I am a mustaches entusiast, I love them!

  

- Algo que me gusta hacer de vez en cuando es bajar a Barcelona e ir de tiendas crafty, especialmente en Gracia, conocer lo que hacen pequeños artesanos (como los cactus de tela). Recojo las targetas y me las guardo todas y las sitúo en un mapa, para cuando vuelvo no perderme ninguna :) Estas navidades, por eso, los chicos de The Crafty Days me han facilitado el trabajo editando esta guía :D.

- Something I like to do from time to time is to go to Barcelona and visit crafty shops, especially in Gracia neighbourhood, discober what small artisans do (such as those cloth cactus). I pick their business cards and I keep them all and I place them on a map, in order to visit these shops again and do not miss any :) However, Last Christmas, the guys from The Crafty Days have facilitated my work editing this Barcelona crafty guide :D

- Esta ilustración de Tutticonfetti, es una ilustración personalizada que me regaló mi hermana (la de la derecha) el día que defendí mi tesis: dio en el clavo! Un día, con calma, ya os explicaré cada uno de los detalles y el porqué. 

- This illustration of Tutticonfetti is a personalized illustration that my syster (on the right) gave me the day I defended my thesis: I was absolutely spoton! One day, calmly, I will explain all the detail of the illustration and why. 

- Después de terminar la carrera me aficioné a hacer bisutería con fimo o pasta polimérica, y desde entonces no me ha abandonado. Aunque ahora, con el boom que ha experimentado el mundo craft, me gustan también otras cosas, como por ejemplo los washi tapes! Me encantan! Empecé con pocos, y llegó un punto que tuve que hacerme una caja para ponerlos... Bien, y ahora estoy haciendo otra, cuando la termine os explico como la he hecho dentro de la sección Craft it Slow. 

- After finishing my university degree I became interested in making jewelery with polymer clay and since then I have not stopped making it. However recently due to the boom experienced by the craft world, I also like other things, such as washi tapes! I love them! I started with a few, and I got to the point I had to get a box to put them ... Well, now I'm doing another one (the box that you see in the picture is already full!). When I finish it, I will explain you how I have made it in the Slow Craft section.

- Me gusta mucho también el craft que se hace en los paises nórdicos, sigo algunos blogs, así aprovecho también para practicar el alemán. (DIY heisst: Dast Ist Yummy = DIY quiere decir, esto está delicioso).

- I also really like the craft that is made in the Nordic countries, I follow some blogs and I also take the opportunity to practice German. (DIY heisst: Dast Ist Yummy= DIY means, this is delicious).

- La muñequita que veis (olvidé hacerle foto de detalle) también es uno de mis proyectos Craft it Slow.
- The doll you see in the general picture (I forgot to make a detail photo) is also one of my projects Craft it Slow.

- Me inspiran revistas como Kireei, Veo Veo Magazine o El Costurero. Aunque tengo que confesar que la costura no se me da muy bien, pero mi madre es modista, y cuando era pequeña estaba siempre en la habitación de coser, recogiendo telas y inventando, creo que parte de mi inspiración viene de ahí. 

- I am inspired by magazines like Kireei, Veo Veo Magazine or El Costurero. Although I must confess that I am pretty poor on sewing, my mother is a dressmaker, and as a child I was always in the sewing room, picking fabrics and inventing, I think part of my inspiration comes from there. 

- La naturaleza también es algo que me inspira: otra afición que comparto con mi compañero es hacer excursiones por la montaña, ya sea a buscar setas o a caminar simplemente,... Siempre me llevo hojas, piñas, flores,... a casa. 

- Nature is also something that inspires me: another hobby I share with my partner is hiking in the mountains, either to look for mushrooms or just walk... I always take home leaves, pine cones, flowers,...

- Los corazoncillos de fieltro son de nuestro viaje a Nepal. Como dice el novio crafty de The Crafty Days, las craftys no descansamos ni en vacaciones! Siempre buscamos el taller donde se hacen las cosas, la feria de artesanos,... Vaya, un sinvivir para los novios!

- The small felt hearts are from our trip to Nepal. As the crafty groom in The Crafty Days says, the crafty ladys do not rest nor vacation! We always seek the workshop where things are made, craft fairs ... Something very hard for our boyfriends!

- Y finalmente, aunque no soy una fashion victim, me gusta seguir la moda, es una gran fuente de inspiración. 

- And finally, although I am not a fashion victim, I like to follow the trends, fashion is a great source of inspiration!

Craft it slow: nuvis de cartró pedra (1)

Avui vull començar la secció craft it slow: projectes craft que no es fan en una horeta, projectes que segueixen la filosofia slow. Projectes que els vas fent a poc a poc, que vas modelant a mesura que els vas fent, que te'n vas a dormir pensant com seguiràs... En aquesta secció us ensenyaré els projectes craft que m'han portat un temps a fer-los, normalment mesos! La majoria són treballs que faig en el meu curs de manualitats dels dimarts al taller d'expressió plàstica Manetes (un dia ja us explicaré amb més detall el que hi faig allà).

Today I would like to start the section named craft it slow: craft projects that are not ready in an hour, projects that follow slow philosophy. Projects that you make them slowly, that you shape them as you do them, that you go to sleep thinking about how you will follow them... In this section I will show you craft projects that have taken me some time to make them, usually some months! Most of them are works that I do in my Tuesdays crafts workshop in the taller d'expressió plàstica Manetes (one day I'll tell you in detail what I do there).

Començo explicant-vos la història d'aquests nuvis: uns molt bons amics, que es van casar al setembre de 2012, em van demanar que els fes els nuvis del pastís. Em van donar llibertat total, que els fes com vulgués (quin compromís!). Tenia clar que havien de ser  personalitzats, però no sabia gaire com fer-los. Li vaig comentar a la noia que porta el taller de Manetes i després de donar-hi voltes, vam decidir que estaria bé fer-ho amb cartró pedra. Una tècnica que et permet personalitzar les figures i amb la que ja hi havia treballat. Així que em vaig posar mans a la obra:

I start telling you the story of this couple: some very good friends, who were married in September of 2012, asked me to do the grooms for the top cake. I was given complete freedom to do them (what commitment !). It was clear that they must be custom grooms, but I didn't know how to do them. I talked with the woman that handles taller d'expressió plàstica Manetes and we gave it around, we decided to do them with cardboard. It is technique that allows you to customize the figures, and I had some experience with. So I put hands to work : 

Les dues primeres setmanes vaig fer la figura amb cartró pedra. No té gaire secret: cartró humit i cola blanca seguint el relleu del motlle de guix i deixar que s'assequi (una setmaneta).

The first two weeks I did the cardboard figure. It doesn't make much secret: wet cardboard and white glue following the relief of plaster and let dry (one week). 

 

En aquest cas el motlle està dividit en dos i cal ajuntar les dues parts un cop està sec. Mireu com queda! Sembla increible que al final pugui semblar que encaixen, no?! És questió de paper de diari, cola blanca i pasta blanca.Bé, i paciència!

In this case the mold is divided in two and both parties need to be joined once they are dry. See how it looks! It seems incredible that at the end it may seem that fit, right?! It's a matter of newspaper, white glue and white pasta.Well, and patience!

 

Amb la pasta blanca vas suavitzant les imperfeccions del cartró i fent els detalls: cabell, barbeta, nas, ... 

With white pasta you smooth cardboard imperfections and make the details of the figures: hair, chin, nose, ...

 

Els detalls del traje, la corbata, les mans, ... (Fixeu-vos que tenia informació privilegiada del traje i la corbata, jeje).

Details of the suit, tie, hands ... (Notice that I had privileged information about the suit and tie, :D).

Finalment cal donar una capa de gotelé abans de passar a la pintura, però això ja us ho ensenyaré un altre dia.

El regal d'una bona amiga

Com us vaig dir a la primera entrada, feia molt temps que volia fer el blog, però no trobava mai el moment de posar-me a crear-lo, em semblava massa feina per posar-m'hi una estoneta: obre un compte de gmail, crea el blogspot, busca una plantilla que t'agradi, fes un logo (uf! encara dubto!), tria una paleta de colors,...
 

Però aquests Reis passats he tingut un parell de regals que m'han ajudat a decidir-me i aquí podeu veure el primer: unes lletres de fusta d'uns 7x5 cm decorades amb uns papers de scrap guapíssims que em va regalar una de les meves millors amigues. Ella fa uns àlbums molt macos de scrap (m'agradaria posar-vos un link al seu blog o facebook per a esenyar-vos-los, però no en té :(, Marta! a veure si t'animes!) i a més té la santa paciència d'ensenyar-me'n (tot i que hi ha dies que xerrem més que no pas scrapegem :D). A que són maques? Ara em falta saber on les penjo :)
 

Una altra cosa que tenia pendent era fer un gif animat... Així que aquest matí m'he plantat a la terrassa amb el trípode, la càmera, una cartolina on fa temps hi vaig estampar uns topos negres, un regle per calcular les distàncies (la meva vena enginyeril no descansa mai), guants per suportar el fred, i he fet les fotos. Per ser el primer no em desagrada, però crec que necessito un trípode més ferm, perquè les fotos no són exactament iguals. A vosaltres us agrada?


As I said in the first post, I wanted to make the blog long time ago but I never found the time to create it, it seemed too much work to me: open a gmail account, create the blogspot address, choose a nice template, create a logo (I still doubt about it), choose a color palette ...
 

But the last "Three Wise Men Day" Ihad a couple of gifts that helped me to decide. Here you can find the first one: wood letters about 7x5 cm decorated with gorgeous scrapbooking paper, that gave me one of my best friends. She makes very beautiful scrapbooking albums (I would like to link to her blog or facebook in order to show you them, but she doesn't have any). She also has holy patience to teach me (although some days we chat more than we scrap :D). They are gorgeous, aren't they? Now, I just neeed to know where to hang them on.

Another thing that I had pending was to make an animated gif ... So this morning I stood on the terrace with the tripod, the camera, a card where I stamped a long time ago with black dots, a ruler to calculate the distances (my engineering vein never rests), gloves to support cold, and I did the photos. To be the first attempt I do not dislike it, but I think I need a firmer tripod. Do you like it?

I per què Les Roserets?
 
Roseret ve del meu nom, Roser. Un nom que ni abans (quan me'l van posar ja fa 34 anys 35 anys!!!) ni ara es posa gaire. De fet, tota la vida he estat la Roser, no m'ha calgut ser mai Ia Roser Capdevila. Però tot i que és un nom curtet, els meus amics i família m'anomenen i m'ha anomenat de vàries maneres: Dusée, Rose, Rousy, Rosario, Dusariu, Rosó, Rosarillo, ... Però només una persona em deia Roseret, el meu pare. Aquest blog és un petit honor a ell, que fa molts anys ens va deixar. Espero que des d'on siguis em puguis llegir.

Why Les Roserets ? 

Roseret comes from my name, Roser. A name that neither before (when it was put to me 34 years 35 years ago!) not now, there is few people with this name. In fact, all my life I've been Roser, I had never the necessity to be called Roser Capdevila. However, although it is a very short name, my friends and family call me and called me several ways: Dusée, Rose, Rousy, Rosario, Rosó, Rosarillo ... But only one person told me Roseret, my father. This blog is a small honor to him, who left us many years ago. I hope that where you are you can read my blog.


I per què Les Roserets i no Roseret a seques?

Doncs perquè de Roserets n'hi ha moltes: sóc enginyera de professió, bé, doctora enginyera, però des de petita he tingut una vena crafty. I si no que li ho preguntin a la meva mare, que li arreplegava tots els trossos de roba que queien de la seva taula de cosir, els rotllos de paper del vàter, les caixes de cartró,... I amb quatre retoladors, fils i gomets creava de tot. Però de Roserets no només hi ha l'enginyera i la crafty, també hi ha la que li agrada fer fotografies, la que va de compres per Gràcia, la que viatja, la que instagrameja, la que dóna tallers, ... I totes, totes, poc o molt, sortiran en aquest blog. Juntament amb una altra part important de mi: la meva germana! Que de crafty no en té gaire, però que en sap un munt d'escriure, i de fer-ho en gràcia, de tocar la guitarra, de traduir (serà del comitè lingüstic del blog), i d'altres coses que ja descobrireu.

Us convido que us quedeu i gaudiu de cadascuna d'elles: benvinguts al meu blog!!!

And why Roserets (plural form) and not Roseret (singular form)?

Because there are many Roseret: I work as an engineer, well, PhD. engineer, but when I was a child I already was a crafty woman. You can ask it to my mother, I used to collect all the pieces of fabric that fell from her sewing table, toilet paper rolls, cardboard boxes , ... And with some markers, stickers and threads I was able to create many things. But not only exists the Roseret as an engineer and crafty woman, but also who likes to take pictures, who likes to shop in Gracia neighbourhood (in Barcelona), who travels, who instagrams, who provides workshops, ... And all of them will be in this blog. Along with another important part of me, my sister! She doesn't like craft very much, but she knows a lot of writing, and do it gracefully, she plays the guitar, translate (she will be responsible of lenguage comitte), and other things that you will discover soon.

A l'hora de crear el blog he dubtat molt del nom, de l'estil, dels continguts,... Però fa molt temps que tenia molt clar quina seria la foto que juntament amb una de meva, acompanaria la primera entrada del blog. La foto d'aquest penjoll que fa molt temps que vaig trobar i que no sé d'on la vaig treure (si algú sap de qui és, que m'ho digui, thanks!), perquè m'hi vaig sentir molt identificada: la meva passió per les joies, el craft, la creativitat i l'art en general i la meva vessant enginyeril. El dia que la vaig trobar la foto vaig pensar que estava feta per a mi: una joia amb una equació de les que em barallo sovint. La veritat és que m'agradaria conèixer la persona que va crear el penjoll i preguntar-li per quins motius estètics va posar aquesta equació a la seva joia... Qui sap, potser amb el blog aconsegueixo trobar-la :)

When I created the blog I doubted many things: the name, the style, the content,... But long ago I was sure about the photo that would be in the first post of the blog (altogether with a profile foto). The picture of this pendant that I found long ago and I do not know where (if anyone knows, tell me, thanks!). I felt very identified with it: my passion for jewelry, craft, creativity and art in general and my engineering side. The day I found the picture I thought it was made ​​for me: a necklace with one of the equations I often work with. I'd like to meet the person who created the necklace and ask him/her which are the reasons why he/she write this equation in its jewel ...

For those curious in equations: it is the differential equation of heat transfer by conduction in cylindrical coordinates with internal sources.
